Bottom left rib sticks out and pops near sternum when someone hugs me or theres pressure on them.xrays show no broken rib.why does it do this & hurt?

Cartridge fractures : Your cartilage is broken not your ribs. cartilage is not seen well on CT scan and X-rays. I normally repair these with a titanium plate from sternum to the proximal rib and reduce the fractures cartilage.
