Type of restoration: crown build up or post is a type of dental restoration used to stabilize and reenforced a weakened tooth or provide an anchor for a crown. If your tooth is damaged but not lost, a porc/base metal crown can be used to restore its shape, appearance and function.

Speak with dentist: Speak with your dentist so you know exactly what is being done and possibly billed to your insurance. Pins have generally fallen out of favor due to the fact that they cause fractures in the tooth. Post and cores are used to buildup a tooth that has had root canal. If possible for aesthetics do an e-max crown for an anterior tooth and a zirconia crown for a posterior tooth.
