Have studies been done on the effect of maternal stress on infants in the womb?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MATERNAL STRESS: When mom is stress out, she neglects herself, forgetting to eat, worry a lot, depressed and causes the baby to feel it by not growing good. They sometimes come out as small for gestational age or mom will have premature delivery or other complications.
