Went to dentist today and have abcess got antibiotics but nothing for pain can i call dentist tomorrow and ask for prescription for pain?

Yes: They saw your condition and can best prescribe something if needed. Remember, this developed over time and until the cause is treated it will not go away. There is no magic pill to instantly make this better. After a few doses of the antibiotic you should feel improvement. Take ibuprofen 3-4 times a day to help. This is better than any narcotic to treat the cause . Give them a call. Good Luck.

Sure: If OTC pain meds are not working you may need something stronger. The antibiotics can take 24-48 hours to start controlling the infection, so be patient.

Call your dentist: for prescription pain medication. Abscess tooth pain is usually extremely intense, and in most cases almost impossible to relieve until you get dental treatment. Take care.
