Yes: yes of the indication to get a chest X ray is to determined the size of the heart comparing to the lung so yes it does

Of course: enlarged heart produces an abnormally large shadow on a chest X-ray film. However, if your heart is enlarged on an X-ray, other tests will usually be needed to support the diagnosis.

Yes: The best way to screen for an enlarged heart (cardio megaly) is with a chest X-ray. It cannot assess function, only size. An echocardiogram would be the next step to determine how well the heart is pumping.
