No worry unless: By age 8, 50% of kids in the US according to a recent study has EBV. By age 19, about 90% are positive, as determined by antibiody test. Unless your son has a particular immunocompromising condition (had a bone marrow transplant..etc.), I do not think this particular incident should raise any alarm.
