Retainers: Nothing you would normally put in your mouth that is otherwise safe to you should effect your plastic retainers. Obviously, depending upon the type of retainer, some caution regarding avoiding eating hard foods that might break the appliance is warranted. Rinse after eating or drinking! the dentist who made you the retainers should go over any specific precautions with you. If not, call and ask.

Caution: Mio is listed as having less than 2% of natural flavors. Other listed ingredients are citric acid, propylene glycol, malic acid, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, potassium citrate, allura red ac 40, brilliant blue fcf 1 and potassium sorbate. If the retainers hold acid against your teeth there could be some complications. Water is safe, though.

OK: Will not damage teeth or retainer as long as your Oral Hygiene program is exactly as directed by your Dentist, but also probably doesn't do much other than creating chemical rich urine.
