Start w/Family Doc: It's not a bad idea to start w/your Family Doc 1st. S/he can evaluate, treat as appropriate and refer if necessary. In general, it's a matter of semantics & degree of pain as to heartburn vs acid reflux vs gastritis vs ulcer vs hiatal hernia. Of note, hiatal hernias are often asymptomatic. While waiting for appt w/Family Doc, consider antacids eg calcium carbonate, H2 blockers & proton pump inhibi
