Possible: We usually recommend waiting 1-2 weeks before having unprotected sex after being treated for chlamydia. I recommend my patients come back in for a test of cure to confirm that the infection has resolved. It is important that all partners get treated to avoid spreading it around.

Clearance time: Unfortunately the cure for chlamydia is not immediate and three days is insufficient for getting rid of ALL the bacteria. We generally recommend that people wait for a full two weeks after treated before resuming unprotected intercourse or using condoms in the meantime. You both should consider getting tested and treated again if needed.
