I've had pain in my left ear for a month worse when a turn my head or swallow now starting in my right ear. what could cause this?

Ear: it could be a chronic ear infection. I would suggest you go to your doctor, have him evaluate your inner ear, and ear drum. he can prescripte cipro (ciprofloxacin) OTIC and this may clear up the infection in a week if this is the case.
