A member asked:

My diet doesn't include many fruits & vegetables but i'm overall very healthy. how would this increase my risk of cervical cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diet and Cervix: The major risk factor for cervical cancer is sexual exposure history, age at first onset, number of partners, and of course, the resultant HPV infections- types, persistence, etc. Diet is a minor factor in clearing HPV infection, but a very important factor in other significant cancers. Fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals, anti-oxidants and other substances that can reduce risk.
