Allergy: If your rash is exactly where the leads were placed, you likely have a contact dermatitis - more likely to the adhesive than to the gel, but either way, anti-histamines like diphenhydramine (caution: causes drowsiness!) will help the itch, & a steroid cream, like cortisone, will help the rash - both sold over the counter. Allergy: Allergic to cream? Take otc Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and follow the instruction on the label because it can you make drowsy. Also put otc cortisone cream on it. Have a blood test to see if you are bruising easily from low platelet count.

Allergic reaction: to the cream is most likely cause. Make sure that you have washed the area very well. Applying hydrocortisone cream and/or taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Zyrtec should be helpful in relieving symptoms of rash.
