A member asked:

My mother was using acelofenac one tablet daily for 4 months for pains but stopped due to stomach problems. now the pains are back what should we do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rheumatoid arth?: If your mother has rheumatoid arthritis, there are new, more specific treatments that can be substituted for acelofenac (diclofenac) that will not upset the stomach. If not, sometimes adding a med like omeprazole will help. Does she take her med only a full stomach as advised? Finally some people benefit from celecoxib which has a lower incidence of stomach upset. Best wishes to her.
