A member asked:

Taking cipramil (only 10mg) so terrified of side effects but my gp said they were only a precaution. how bad are they from this medication? scared!!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Safe: Cipramil (generic = citalopram) is a "second generation" antidepressant also used to treat anxiety. They have far fewer side effects than the older "first generation" ones. They are widely used by non-psychiatrist MD's because they are effective often at low doses such as 10 mg with very few side effects. You may have some temporary mild nausea or drowsiness. I hope this helps.
