R/O PHN: After a bout of shingles some patients may develop post herpetic neuralgia. This condition is usually painful. If the area is numb you should be examined and have labs checked . Also X-ray of thoracic and lumbar spines. If symptoms persist an MRI WOULD BE WARRANTED to rule out a herniated disc or MS plaque

Cannot: Unfortunately you cannot reverse it. There are medicines to help with the uncomfortable feeling if that is what you are experiencing. Ask your MD.
