Get checked.: Strep throat does not always present with painful swallowing or a fever. In fact it only presents classically in about 60% of kids and 30% of adults. There are lots of atypical presentations for this disease. So with a white patch, it is worth getting a culture. If it does not go away in a week or so,, get checked for other possibilities.
