A member asked:

A person has a cut in her mouth and bad teeth she uses the utensils that a hiv person used before her and washed?if the utensil is washed is it safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No risk from HIV: HIV-1 infection is only transmitted by blood and genital tract secretions, as in sharing drug paraphernalia (needles) or having sex. Casual contact, from what you described here, is considered safe. HIV dies as soon as it leaves the body. Thus, there is no risk here. There is alot of fear regarding HIV, but there shouldn't be. This is a completely manageable disease. http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/
