Not likely: but anything is possible. Acute appendicitis is usually, just as name implies, acute, and gets worse over 1,2, or 3 days, unless it is properly treated.

No: An infectious process like appendicitis would not resolve with rest. More than likely this will be back/spine related. More help could be offered with a more in depth consukt. I hope this helps.
