Esophagus: The symptoms locate your pain in the esophagus. Whether you have an ulcer, fissure, erosion, foreign body, diverticulum or other issue is unknown until you're evaluated. A gastroenterologist would be a better bet than the ER where they will determine that your problem isn't life-threatening and release you.
