Staph? Strep?: It is possible your husband is colonized with a virulent strain of strep or staph bacteria, and maybe at risk for more serious infections. If diabetic or overweight (with continuous moisture in groin), that could contribute. An antibiotic prescription, antiseptic soaps, etc may help. He should discuss with his doctor and/or see an infectious diseases specialist.

Hydradenitis: Some people are prone to get frequent boil like lesions if it does not become an abscess or forming tracts and scarring no need to worry, If it forms any of the above mentioned pictures need an attention, have it checked out through a dermatologist. Meantime avoid smoking, lose weight, avoid friction in that areas and of course keep it clean
