Qualified NO: Only approximately 5% of arachnoid cysts become symptomatic, and 75% of the symptomatic cysts occur in children, not adults. So your approximate chance of becoming symptomatic is 1% i.e. it's 99% likely that the cyst won't bother you. Depending on the location the cyst could cause seizures or vision problems, etc. However, NO treatment is indicated UNLESS the patient has symptoms.
