Qualified NO: Only approximately 5% of arachnoid cysts become symptomatic, and 75% of the symptomatic cysts occur in children, not adults. So your approximate chance of becoming symptomatic is 1% i.e. it's 99% likely that the cyst won't bother you. Depending on the location the cyst could cause seizures or vision problems, etc. However, NO treatment is indicated UNLESS the patient has symptoms.

If an arachnoid cyst was over the temporal pareto region, would / could this cause Deja vu seizures? Temporal lobe epilepsy? If it was causing this would it be detected by an EEG or no? How do eegs correlate to mri findings / how accurate?
