More information : It is unclear what "it" is. However, it sounds like you are referring to urine drug screening for substances. If so, the primary substances of abuse that are tested for federal DOT requirements will likely be present whether it is 5 or 12 hours following exposure, depending on the amount of exposure and the hydration status of the specimen's donor.
