See Ortho: if the knee is licking it is possible to have a free floating fragment. Some people have meniscus injuries and later a fragment comes loose. Get formal evaluation by an orthopedic specialist.

I scraped my knee a year ago and my knee hurt any time it came into contact with anything for two months after that. For a good 6 months I didn't feel any pain, but three months ago my knee started hurting whenever I put even a little pressure on it.
