GERD: Dietary changes can improve the symptoms of GERD. It is important to avoid any particular foods that give you problems, but common culprits are tomatoes, onions, citrus fruits, chocolate, caffeine, and alcohol. Tilting your bed on blocks often helps. You should avoid tobacco. Despite these measures, though, many people still require chronic medication to control GERD. Good luck.
