A member asked:

Would toupet fundoplication be an appropriate treatment for bothersome daily reflux /gerd uncontrolled by diet and all meds tried/failed if 24 hr ph study was positive but not severe ? md recommended it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quite successful: The toupet fundoplication yields very good results for persistent reflux and seems to avoid some of the complications of the Nissen procedure where the wrap around the esophagus is 360 degrees. Your doctor has reviewed your studies and knows you best, and if you have failed diet, drugs and elevation, then I would follow his/her recommendation.
