Yes.: If they are coming out and often bleeding or painful- Get evaluated for surgery. If they are bothersome when you are constipated= Avoid Constipation by taking Stool softener. There are OTC "Preparation H" is available and then there are Prescriptions also available for the occasional symptom relief.

Depends: Be sure that you are getting 25-30 gms of fiber and 1 1/2 qts of water in your diet daily. Alternately, get some Epsom Salts and add 1/2 - 1 tsp Epsom Salts to 8-12 oz water one to two times daily. Titrate the amount of Epsom Salts to get a firm stool but not have diarrhea.
