Have your: dentist numb the bad tooth and open it to drain. That should relieve the pain. The root canal doc can take it from there.

Antibiotics: There are really strong pain meds. What did they prescribe? If not already done, antibiotics should help. If you are using antibiotics, there may be stronger antibiotics. There are endodontists that will see you same day. Find one.

Dds #: how likely is it that a tooth furcation (1-3 mm) caused a gum abscess? Root tip is not compromised.
Tooth extracted/bone graft a week ago, on clindy still painful, saw dds, no dry socket, said deep roots difficult extraction, could that cause pain?
I now have a full 1 millimeter space between two front lower teeth. Have recession for years. Teeth not moving. See perio, general DDS or orthodontist? Contact fixable?
