A metastasis : Is a cancer that diseminate from its primary origin to other sites of the body. CT scan is more likely to appear as multiple densities. A nodule on the hand could be benign or primary cancer and tends to appear as a single large density

Many kinds of nodule: A nodule on a chest Xray or CT scan (or sometimes in another organ, like the liver) is simply a roundish mark that shouldn't be there. Metastatic cancer is a possible cause and has to be a consideration if there is current or past cancer of a type that spreads to that organ. But there are many causes of nodules, many not serious. This is something to discuss with your doctor. Good luck

Not all nodules are cancer and metastasis.
