A metastasis : Is a cancer that diseminate from its primary origin to other sites of the body. CT scan is more likely to appear as multiple densities. A nodule on the hand could be benign or primary cancer and tends to appear as a single large density

Many kinds of nodule: A nodule on a chest Xray or CT scan (or sometimes in another organ, like the liver) is simply a roundish mark that shouldn't be there. Metastatic cancer is a possible cause and has to be a consideration if there is current or past cancer of a type that spreads to that organ. But there are many causes of nodules, many not serious. This is something to discuss with your doctor. Good luck

Yes: Nodule is a term used for something solid -a tumor- where it should not be.;seen on Imaging studies. Metastases is a spread of Malignant tumor or Cancer to a distant area of the body- away from its origin. It can be a Nodule also. Nodule can be benign.

The short answer no: however the longer answer is sometimes they do look alike on CT. A nodule describes a rounded finding on a CT which may also represent benign finding like a non-calcified granulomas for example. Tiny peripheral nodules may be post inflammatory nodules. Not all nodules are cancer and metastasis.
