Viral infection: It sounds like a viral infection although the fever is slightly higher than usual. I f it lasts more than 48 hours or your sore throat gets worse or the fever gets higher get checked for strep as well.

URI: You appear to have a probable Upper respiratory infection (URI). See the Doctor who can determine and help diagnosis whether it is most likely a viral URI or a bacterial URI. A generalized pharyngitis, such as "strep-throat" would be an example of a common bacterial URI. Best wishes.
