Oral more effective: Oral will enter system much more rapidly. Topical must pass the epidermal barrier and will remain primarily localized. All related to what is prescribed for.

Acne or anaerobic?: Topical clindamycin decrease inflammatory acne lesions better than oral tetracycline. However, to treat anaerobic infections or certain serious bacterial infections, parenteral or oral is recommended.
