How effective is clindamycin phosphate topical solution?

Effective: It is one of many acne therapeutic agents. It works for some acne, particularly for pimples, but not very effective for balck/whiteheads. It's hard to compare its "effectiveness" against others. Common sense: if there is one acne treatment stands out as the best, then why we have so many treatments/regimens available outthere?
