Folliculitis: It sounds like you may have a staph infection which you may have caused by using a dirty razor. It is also possible you are having a foreign body reaction due to ingrown hairs. You may need to be treated with oral antibiotics but until Wednesday, apply rubbing alcohol to the area and see if it helps. Be careful, because it may sting at first!

Folliculits: Razor burn can occur after shaving. The skin becomes red & inflamed & may sting or itch. Insure you use fresh, sharp blades vice dull blades. If hair is > several mm long – then trim before shaving. Wash area before shaving – warm water helps to soften hair. Use a lubricant when shaving.
