Several things: I would want to rule out an infection with the symptoms you're describing (e.g. Bacterial Vaginosis, UTI, etc...). Vagisil is worth a shot. Sometimes also, the postpartum state (usually about 6 weeks) is a relatively hypo-estrogenic time period when the GU (genitourinary) tissue is a little more sensitive and prone to injury.
