How long does it take for a new level of synthroid (thyroxine) to take effect so that i can get a repeat blood test for my tsh which was 0.01?

At least a month: If your TSH was 0.01 you were definitely taking too much thyroid hormone so I assume your doctor reduced your dose. I usually wait 1-2 months before repeating the free T4 and TSH on the new dose by which time the tests should have stabilized
