If ect can cause short term memory problems, won't that affect your ability to work post-procedure?

If you or your doc: is considering ECT you probably have intractable depression that has not responded to other treatments. Your ability to work may well be impacted more by major depression than by the side-effects of ECT which can include memory problems. So, all depends on the type of work you are doing and balancing risk-benefit of depressionp of ECT.
