Occlusal adjustment: in your case, you may need a procedure called occlusal adjustment, which your dentition will be adjusted or grind accordingly to reorient the bite and help to correct the occlusal force and eliminate interferences during function. This procedure will help the bruxer tremendously.

Mouthguard: Although not ideal, you may get and fit an athletic mouthguard for the upper teeth. Best would be to see a Dentist and evaluate your situation and offer options. A nightguard might be an option. Meantime, the sports mouthguard can be worn at night and whenever you find yourself bruxing. Check Dental society for clinic treatment or Dental School. Best of Luck.

Bruxism: also called night time clenching, may cause tooth wear, teeth movement and even damage or break teeth. Currently, no therapy has been proven effective in treating sleep bruxism. See your dentist for night guard fabrication for teeth protection. Good luck.

Concern: My concern is that OTC remedies can actually do more harm than good. Talk to an Orthodontist. Initial exam usually free. Orthodontic Specialists all offer payment plans. I've always been fascinated by the question of why people say they can afford fancy electronic gadgets but not health care. Another option is a University Dental School. They have deeply discounted fees.

Consult: In the long run the easiest and yes least expensive option is to see a dentist for an initial dental consult. He/she can properly examine you, evaluate any problems and then suggest treatment or referral to low cost dental options. Left untreated, little problems often cause big problems and more heartache and money. Find out your options and take it from there. OTC nightguards may do more harm.

Bruxing Issues: Good day; Alternative areas offering dental care may be dental schools or hospitals; consider these alternatives!
