Probable infection: Painful red bumps with pus are usually areas of infection. The fact they are far apart is probably because the infecting organism is spread through the blood stream. A common organism to do this is the bacteria called Staph. Aureus and often it is a antibiotic resistant form called MRSA. You should see a physician ASAP and be treated. You should not try to open the pustules
