Chest pain: Fleeting, sharp, shooting chest pains often affected by a deep breath are frequently due to pinching of an intercostal nerve(runs between two ribs or irritated intercostal muscle. This is more if a nuisance rather than anything serious and may come and go. It's just as well to be evaluated by your Physician if symptoms persist, however for reassurance that heart and lungs aren't involved.
