Is pain from a pe similar to gerd? i sometimes get sudden pains in my left chest that make deep breaths painful, but it goes away in a few minutes.

This is more if a nuisance rather than anything serious and may come and go. It's just as well to be evaluated by your Physician if symptoms persist,however for reassurance that heart and lungs aren't involved.
