HIV can lie dormant: There is no cure for HIV right now because HIV can lie dormant (sleeping) in various locations or reservoirs. The current HIV meds require that HIV be actively replicating or trying to make more copies of itself. In addition, the current meds are good at clearing the blood of hiv, but may not get into areas like the lymph node or brain or other tissues well. Thus, there is no cure for now...
