Yes ReduceCellDamage: Sugar + internal controls: with chronically increased extracellular sugar concentrations, entry rate into cells ↑es beyond what liver & muscle can handle, cells ↑ingly decrease responsiveness to Insulin (called Insulin resistance, protective). Once severe enough, decades later, & pancreas no longer able to secrete enough Insulin to keep hba1c <6.5%, then this pattern is called type ii dm.
