Be cautious: The mucosal thickening is possibly due to infection and needs to be addressed further. Also your family history will matter, if that has cancers in it. You need to see colon rectum doctor and they may do a colon check including rectum. They will get some blood tests. So far it sounds like infection, so hopefully you will get better with proper antibiotics. Good luck.
