My toddler was diagnosed to have pus on his throat.. is it serious? and whats the treatment?

Treatable: This is common at this age and could be caused by either a virus or a bacteria. If you have already seen your provider, appropriate treatment is available. You will want to control pain with ibuprofen and make sure he stays well hydrated with cool liquids.

Follow MD advice: If your doctor saw pus on throat, your physician probably cultured the area and started antibiotics. Please make sure medications are completed. If a culture were not done, ask your doctor to please do this to look for strep. If fever or emesis or diarrhea, make sure patient is drinking plenty of fluids and being followed carefully. Hopefully this will not become serious. Ears need to be check
