Local irritation: Sounds like you had a thorough evaluation at the ER. Unfortunately some will become irritated when they are catheterized for a specimen and some occasionally get a UTI after the procedure. Local rinsing with cool water with topical application of a mild cortizone (hydrocortisone) cream can stop the pain if it is just irritation. If it persists after a day or so of this treatment your doc may want to evaluate her
