Yes: Mono is caused by the Ebstein Barr virus. It is moderately contagious through body fluid contact. It can be transmitted by kissing and by oral sex. Many people are already immune to it without knowing that they had it. I would recommend avoiding contagious behaviors for 3-4 weeks.
