Why is furosemide called high ceiling diuretic? why not just high efficiency diuretic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High Ceiling Diureti: Increasing the dose above the threshold will ellicit a dose-dependant increase in diuresis until they reach maximum effectiveness. This is called the ceiling effect. So, if you go above the ceiling dose, no extra effect will be achieved. Compared to other diuretics Furosemide has high ceiling effect.
