Hypokalemia: Your question suggests that the patient may be losing too much potassium as a result of Lasix (furosemide) and that may be making him weak. Low potassium makes muscles weaker. A second possibility is that the Lasix (furosemide) is causing too much water and sodium to be lost, causing dehydration and that is why he is weak. I suggest meeting with a cardiologist.
