Myoclonic jerks: Not unique to have myoclonic jerks as you are falling asleep, but if this awakens you at night, nocturnal myoclonus, or paroxysmal limb movements of sleep, which is a variant of restless leg syndrome, is a sleep disorder which might well benefit from therapy. Your description is more characteristic of a benign condition which is normal and common.
