That was wrong to do: It was the wrong thing to do.I suggest you have it checked by your doctor as it hurts and yes it is spreadable as open lesion.Take over the counter pain med like aleve or ibuprofen or Tylenol (acetaminophen) till you see the doctor

Yes: Herpes is contagious when there are blisters present. Please be careful. The best things you can do to lessen the pain is use your valtrex (valacyclovir) and add an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen. You can also use a topical anesthetic like lidocaine. If the pain is still severe, talk with your doctor. There are prescription medications that can help. Get well soon!
