Depends: It depends where the foot pain is on the foot. If in the heel and arch it is probably plantar fasciitis. If in the ball of the foot it may be a neuroma.

Depends : One of the most common causes of heel pain is plantar fasciitis. A classic symptom for this problem is pain when first standing on the foot in the morning. This problem usually is self-limiting with stretching exercises and other modalities. I recommend an evaluation from a foot specialist.

If heel pain...: Pain on the bottom is typically due to plantar fasciitis (www.Drmarkgalland.Com 1/16/13), while pain on the back may come from irritation of the achilles insertion. You can treat both w/ rice & stretching/ strengthening. You may also need arch support (pf) or a heel lift (achilles), but you should consult a physician before adding orthotics that will alter your foot posture/ mechanics.
