Depends on type: Hi, The average length orthodontic treatment is 1- 2 years. How long you wear the braces depends on the type of problem being corrected and the severity of the problem.

Malocclusion: If done by qualified Orthodontist average time in treatment is approximately 18 months. 10-20% longer for adults as tissues respond slower than in teens. 25% longer if extractions are necessary. And usually considerably longer if done by GP rather than specialist. Malocclusions are like snowflakes, no two are alike. Ask the GP or Orthodontist that is treating you for an individualized answer.
